FAQ

BUSINESS INSIDER Global Trends Festival isa unique business conference where you can listen to truly global business and society leaders. As they manage global businesses and gather global data from their users, they can spot emerging trends before anyone else does. Even more importantly, these global CEOs and influencers are in a position to reinforce these trends and turn them into global phenomena and a profitable business. The same leaders can assess if the current trends everybody is talking about will hold much longer in the coming months or years. By listening to the first-hand global decision makers, you can better prepare for the world of tomorrow and check in there before your competitors do.

Also, on top of the global perspective, this event lets you listen to the regional or even local consumer and business sentiment. Global trends may play out slightly differently in the regional markets, so it’s worthwhile paying attention to the local markets, too. Therefore, we cover some of the biggest local economies in the world, including India (1,4 billion people, or 18% of total global population), and the United States (330 thousand people, or 4,25% of total global population).

But there’s a practical side, too. Three aspects should be considered here. First, BUSINESS INSIDER Global Trends Festival provides you with lots of top-notch content. Timewise, it adds up to at least 8 hours of premium content a day for five days. Second, the event connects you to people from around the world. By using our networking lounge functionalities, you can meet your possible business partners or even clients all the way from New York City to Tokyo. Third, you can actually get away from this event as a winner. And we really mean it. By getting involved in our quizzes or surveys, or just by visiting different parts of the conference space, each ticket holder collects points and badges.  Those that score highest in the overall scoreboard can win valuable prizes.

BUSINESS INSIDER Global Trends Festival is targeted at senior and mid-level managers, entrepreneurs, investors, and start-ups. But academics, students, analysts, media and anyone who wants to be up to date with trends in business and society are also welcome, as trends to be discussed at the conference apply to the everyday life of most consumers.

The conference is fully on-line. There is no one physical location that will host both the speakers and the audience. The event will be however streamed from various locations across the world, including real-life TV studios , where some key note speakers will gather.

The conference will take place from 19th to 23rd of October 2020.

The idea behind the conference is to pinpoint and discuss key business and societal trends that will impact companies within the next 2 to 3 years. To that effect the key trends to be discussed at the conference have been divided into a few broad daily themes.

The first day, October 19, is entitled „Welcome to the future”. It sets the stage for the conference by taking stock of the immediate consequences of COVID-19 from many different sectors and, in part, of measures taken by individual companies.

The second day „Shifting Societies” on October 20 will deal with the mega trends shaping tomorrow's consumer behaviour. The invited speakers will discuss such Corona-catalyzed phenomena as the fintech revolution, digital transformation, deglobalization, the rise of e-commerce, and new media and entertainment consumption patterns.

The third day, October 21, is devoted to „Sustainability”. Speakers will look at the challenges and business opportunities related to the four most dynamic pillars of sustainability: people, planet, partnership, and profit. The trends and topics to be discussed include pandemic-related changes in human behaviour and attitudes towards ecology; sustainable fashion; green future of mobility; corporate partnerships for change; and alternative energy sources.  Conference attendees can also expect to see here a display of some of the most pressing issues tackled by innovative sustainability-centred business models.

The fourth day, October 22, is all about „Technology” understood as the backbone of tomorrow’s great companies and their competitive edge. Speakers will touch on the most relevant technologies shaping such industries as pharma, health care, biotechnology, food, but also mobility. They will throw some light on how AI, VR, or cloud-based big data analytics can apply to vaccines, medical services, internal data and privacy protection, and data-driven organizations.

The fifth day, October 23, is named „Organization”. It translates all the trends from the past 4 days into the work of an organization. It shows how businesses can thrive in the digital and post-pandemic future when new work and organizational trends accelerate. The discussion on this day will be around new models for flexible work styles, dispersion of teams, leading from a distance, new leadership styles, and new competencies required in the new regime.

The conference content comes in three forms.

The first and the most important one is the live-streamed webcast. Here the global stage and each of the five regional stages will livestream their own 90-minute shows (some concurrently, some subsequently).  The webcast shows will mostly feature one-to-one or small-group discussions between key note speakers and stage hosts. Stand-up presentations will also be part of the webcast. Webcasts are available for all attendees, no matter what type of ticket they have purchased.

The second type of content are „Plus & VIP sessions”. These are 30-minute webinar-like sessions accessible to Plus and VIP ticketholders only (hence the name). They will feature keynote speakers and rising business stars interacting with the audience. Moderated Q&As will be the dominant form here. But short start-up pitches or fireside chats with live audience surveys can be spotted, too. The Plus & VIP sessions will come immediately after the end of the 90-minute webcast on each stage. They will run concurrently, meaning that there may be more than one such session available for watching at the same 30-minute interval.

The third form of content is on-demand. These are mostly video interviews, reports, backstage footage available for watching any time during the conference. Attendees don’t need to wait for a specific time in the agenda to view such on-demand content. This type of content is available for Plus and VIP ticketholders only.

Live streamed content are 90-minute shows that each of the conference geographical stages (Global stage, United States, Europe Berlin, Europe Warsaw, Asia-Pacific) will webcast each day.  Some of these shows will run concurrently, some subsequently.  The webcast shows will mostly feature one-to-one or small-group discussions between key note speakers and stage hosts. Stand-up presentations will also be part of the webcast. Webcasts are available for all attendees, no matter what type of ticket they have purchased.

„Workshops and Q&A sessions with speakers between regional stages (backstage)” are called „Plus & VIP sessions” in the event agenda for short. There are three ticket categories to choose from.

The Basic Live ticket provides access to the live streamed content (90 minutes on each of the 5 stages) and all the functionalities of the event website (such as networking and chat, games and prizes, EXPO booths, my agenda, surveys). You get access to the streamed content and the event site for the duration of the event.

The Plus ticket gives you what Basic Live does plus, and more. The unique benefit of this ticket category is your access to watch and take active part in the „workshops and Q&A sessions with speakers between regional stages (backstage)” or what we call in the agenda „Plus & VIP sessions”.  As part of the Plus ticket you also get on-demand content (to be watched any time), and access to the entire site – including live streamed, Plus & VIP sessions, and on-demand content and all the functionalities – for 12 months after the event ends.
